Do other peoples posts about things their baby can do at certain ages upset you if yours hasn’t hit those milestones yet at the same age?

No but what annoys me is when someone spams a group with 20+ posts in a row saying stuff like “Betty can see faces” “Johnny can sit” “James cans smile” “ally can hold her bottle” etc. ESPECIALLY when they aren’t doing any of those things in the pictures they post. It’s so damn aggravating

With my first I hated when people would compare.... I always felt like she was behind. She was born early and I didn’t know I was supposed to go off of her due date for age for milestones. Now I’m on my 4th and it doesnt bother me at all. All four of my kids hit milestones at different ages. Some were mobile and some could form sentences but had trouble walking. Each child is different. I’m just thankful we haven’t had any health issues yet. Just remember there are some parents that will never hear their child say “I love you” or walk so we must all be thankful for each thing our child can do or say even if it is much later thank expected.

A little bit. Ultimately I know that every baby goes at their own pace. I mostly dislike when people post about it in a braggy way- there's one girl I know who does that. Like, it's not a competition

Okay I said no.... I lied. It’s the sleep thing.. Reading about babies sleeping well at night makes me soooo jealous, I just know I could be enjoying my son so much more if I could see & think straight!! Besides that though, he’s 4 months old and I see others at a similar age getting closer to sitting, for example.. My little dude isn’t even close.. Not sure why though, but that doesn’t bother me? Maybe it will be different as he gets older and there are more milestones.. But as humans in this society, we can be SO hard on ourselves and jealousy is easy to come by, it’s kind of set up and been programmed into us. Just don’t get on yourself too much for feeling the way you do, it’s not malicious and it’s healthy that you’re trying to get in touch with where your feelings are coming from and how to handle them. 😌

Never. My child is the only person I'm concerned about. I couldn't care less if your 6-month-old is playing the piano 😂 my child is free to grow and develop at her own pace.
