Open phone policy in a relationship?

Does anyone else do this? It was recommended for me and my husband to do this by our marriage counselor due to some issues we have had, and it’s supposed to help us “re-build our trust with eachother”. Did it work for you? He and I want to try anything to potentially fix our marriage. We have never looked through each others phones though so I feel like it will be weird

I believe the open phone policy isn’t about looking through each other’s phones but not having them be locked and off limits.

I personally would never do that. Not because I have anything to hide from my SO, but because my friends deserve privacy. If they want my SO to know something, they tell me that or they tell him

How do you know they’re not deleting the bad stuff as soon as it’s there tho? I don’t think it helps, I think just try trust n if they fuck up leave n don’t look back

With my ex, we used each others phones ALL THE TIME and it helped me to trust him so much more since I was with him all the time and there wasn’t anything on his phone. My current boyfriend we have each others passwords but don’t go on each others phone unless there’s a reason (the others phone is dead, no reception, I get a text that’s directed for him)

I can get into his phone but I haven't given him my info. My ex husband was so controlling that my phone is my safe space and my man doesn't ask. I use it in front of him and text people. But still for me its A window into my dark soul with all my crazy screenshots. He respects that. I think he could figure out my pattern.

My hubby and I switch phones all the time. We have each other’s passwords to everything. I don’t find it at all invading. I love that we have that trust.
