Are all mother in laws horrible?

I’ve been with my husband for 14 years. She has always been horrible in a side ass kind of way. Just shady acts. Super long story to explain. I’m the second wife and the first time I met her she told me my husband and his ex wife’s marriage shouldn’t have ended the way it did. She has always favored husbands kids with ex over our kids together and even in front of our kids. Husband never stands up for us. It’s such a bummer. Finally I stood up for my kids when something really bad happened and husband blames me for it. His words ‘we don’t go over that much because of you’re feud with my mom!’ And I’m just here like WTF these are your kids too and you didn’t even man up and stick up for them. Sorry to rant! I’m just curious are all MIL shitty. And does your husband or S/O stick up for you and your kids?

I’ve noticed they’re all shitty if the son is a mommas boy. If they’re close, she’s a bitch. If they aren’t, she’s usually sweet.

Just bc someone is family absolutely doesn’t mean that you should lower your own standards for the respect you and your children deserve. Your kids don’t need to feel alienated or mistreated by her, and neither do you. Your husband should absolutely take up for you and at least hear you out. Don’t compromise your own self-worth and respect just because she’s his mother. And the fact that you stood your ground, proves that you know what you deserve!

I actually got a long ok with my MIL despite her being a psychopath. It wasn’t until me and my husband were together for 10 years that she did something (not going to get into that). And he cut her out of his life for good. Next thing I know she sending me horrible messages about how I finally got what I wanted I turned him against her and a bunch of other crazy shit lol. ( I didn’t even know about him cutting her out of his life at that point. That was all his decision and for some reason she thought it was me). Then I started seeing her true colors and how crazy she really is. I was the bigger person and ignored every message and let her make a crazy fool of herself... since then I found out about so much crazy stuff she’s done ( hitting her children when they were younger, choking herself and bruising herself to frame his dad for trying to kill her she called the cops lucky they knew she was lying, making up story’s of being molested and so much more). So now no I don’t get along with her but I don’t have to deal with her because she’s out of our life for good best decision ever to cut her out of our life.

My MIL is aggravating, she brags about her son, whom I've been with for 8 years. He gets offended when I call him momma's boy. She thinks she knows everything about my children and my life and I've come to distant myself from her. I ignore her and I've blocked her on my phone. I feel that anyone who isn't making my life better I don't need to have them in it. She can see my kids and the baby when I say so but she don't run me. That's her son and my boyfriend/babies  father and if he don't man up I can't be with him cause that's even more aggravating..

My mother in law got with my husband’s absentee baby momma so they could take us to court for custody of his daughter. She tried threatening him about it multiple times not knowing that I already knew and was gathering intel for our attorney. We won of course. As a last resort, CPS ended up at my house because the kid was “being abused”. The case worker apologized for my idiot mother in law once I gave her all the proof that I had about my mother in law just being dissatisfied with the outcome of the case. Then she wanted to slide back in my husband’s good graces 🤨. She’s been nothing but a mean, spiteful, manipulative, irrational person who I am soooo glad is out of our lives. But surprisingly his family doesn’t see that she’s wrong...maybe they do but feel he should be ok with her behavior out of “loyalty” 🤷🏾‍♀️

I used to get along with my MIL, when my husband and I were just dating. After we got engaged things have deteriorated. I didn’t speak to her at all for a few months. I was basically forced to last night. 
She only had excuses and lies, but I guess that will never change. She’s definitely not my favorite person!

I hit the mother in law mother lode. Mine’s an absolute doll!  I’m so sorry you got stuck with an immature B.  Maybe your husband can talk to her, assure of his love for you and encourage a warm relationship between you two.  She can still be friends with the ex, but she should be kind to you as well.

Mine is horrible and has brought exes to her house and called my husband over to make sure he wanted me still and we were married and had our first kid on the way... she tried to break his sister and brother up as well at times... but my sister in law has a wonderful mother in law... soon to be ex mother in law though 😭 but she is actually taking her side over her sons in the whole divorce which I think is cool since he is the one in the wrong

My MIL is terrible! When my husband and I just started dating she lied to him and told him I had a daughtee (which I've never had one) with my ex husband and I beat my child and ex husband. I was so mad... Such a lie.... Her proof of me having a suppose child was a picture of my cousin, his wife, and their newborn baby boy. They moved to my hometown which I lived and didn't  even know me. Nor was I even married they knew about. I was divorced for 5 years before they even met me.  My ex husband moved back to his hometown  once the divorce. She has done everything she could think of to separate us!! while I was out of town she brought a woman for my husband. I could keep telling stories, but I've wrote so much already. LolMy husband and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage in October. She has moved far away ( Thank you Jesus)...
