Pregnant for the first time with PCOS - do I need to measure progesterone?

Jennifer

Hi everyone, I am 6 weeks and 4 days (I think). I’m 34 and was diagnosed with PCOS after we started trying a year ago. It’s my first ever pregnancy.

I had just gotten into a fertility clinic but got pregnant naturally. I saw my doctor at the fertility clinic on Friday and they did an ultrasound and he said everything was fine, there was a heartbeat. I asked if I needed to take anything because of my hormones - I do ovulate naturally but it’s irregular and I have slightly high testosterone. He said he’d refer me to an obstetrician but not to worry and I don’t need to do anythingz

I keep seeing people saying they’re measuring their progesterone. Should I be doing that? My fertility clinic doctor said I’m fine but I keep wondering if I should be doing more to avoid a miscarriage 😥
