Crazy landlord (legit crazy) 😓

My landlord is such a psycho. She walked in today with a visitor and right in front of me and my husband she told them “Ignore the furniture, it isn’t nice”. I laughed not knowing what to do cause I want the damn place rented already since we’re breaking our lease to move into a house. She’s just very stupid and crazy when she talks, you see it right away, so I’m sure that’s what’s giving her a hard time.

I already told her we didn’t get new furniture because we knew we were buying a house so we wanted to wait to buy anything. I literally never did anything to deserve her attitude, she’s just insanely dumb and psychotic. I don’t know how she became a landlord. And she has 3 buildings she rents out.

I feel bad for whoever takes the place next. She wouldn’t even change the old toilet seat that was wood and had caked on crap underneath it that we couldn’t get off. So we bought a new one... and we’re taking it off before we leave. We also had to buy a lock for our shed. She told us whenever we wanted a dishwasher put in to let her know and she’d get a plumber to do it. We asked her to because we wanted to buy one after a while and she wouldn’t. She’s a liar and never maintains anything.

Everything was renovated 2 years ago. It was covered by insurance because the main floor had a fire. Even then, she was too cheap to properly insulate the walls and the floors. The floors are wood and you hear everything through it.

She also likes to send visitors without notifying us. One time they showed up when we pulled into our driveway so I was ticked. I was forced into letting them in at that point. Then she calls me non stop to cancel visits and reschedule or to ask me if I can do it alone cause she can’t make it. Now I just ignore her calls.

I can’t wait to move into our house. Please, don’t be a landlord if you won’t be a good one.

Edit: I said “breaking our lease”, that’s not the right wording. We asked her 4 months in advance if we could move which is only a month earlier than the end of our lease and she accepted. We’re buying my moms house. She’s dying of cancer.
