Yeast infection isn’t yeast?

I’ve had textbook yeast infection symptoms: itching in vagina, thick cottage cheese like discharge, and swelling after multiple rounds of antibiotics.

My doctor did an exam yesterday and said it looks like yeast (even looked at my cervix), but did a swab and it came back negative for yeast, BV, and trich. I’m waiting on chlamydia and gonorrhea results, but I’ve had chlamydia before and it doesn’t feel like that.

Any ideas?
