How often does your child get sick

So I have a 6 year old and the past four months she seems to come down with a runny nose coughing and fever that gets too 100 that she been too the er 4 times I got a lot of ibuprofen and acetaminophen that will last her two years it seems I ask her dr he said as long as her temp is down with the medicine and its not staying at 101 to 102 then she fine and if she does spike a fever to get her to the er so they can do a chest x ray on dec 21 the day after I gave birth to my second baby she had a 103 fever and was in the er for half of the day It just seems now she sick for a week and half then fine for 3 weeks and then back being sick. Is this normal for kids being sick way too often?
