Standstill relationship?

Hi ladies.. please no judgment here, just advice. My boyfriend and I have been together over 3 years, and been friends even longer. He had mentioned he was thinking about proposing when we were on vacation last August. ....and nothing happened. It’s been 6 months and we got into an argument about it. He received a mailing from Kay Jewelers with all of his info on it, so I assumed he bought a ring.

I told him I was just confused as to the mixed signals he was putting out, sometimes he brings up marriage and other times he seems uncomfortable. He told me that he didn’t think we were ready to be engaged. Which broke my little black heart into a million pieces because I could have seen myself getting engaged to him after year 1!

I know we are young, but as I told him, I’m looking for more commitment while living together. We are 20 and 22. We’ve lived together over a year (having a house with a mortgage), and both have very good full time jobs, and I am almost done with my bachelors.

I just feel like he’s never going to propose because he’s comfortable living together without any commitment. He’s also one of those people who needs to be pushed to do things, but this is one thing I won’t push! Any advice appreciated ❤️
