RANT RANT RANT

Jessica

So, a few of my friends have absolutely no desire to get pregnant and that’s totally fine by me but it makes me hesitant to talk to them about my struggle to conceive. A recent conversation solidified that feeling for me. (Here’s my story).

My husband and i have never use contraception since we started dating (5 years) and never had a close call. We got married last May and decided in August that we could become more lax with our ol faithful pull out method (lol).

After August I never got my period until November after I saw my OBGYN where she gave me a 10 day course of progesterone and it facilitated a “period” (definitely wasn’t a normal period for me). Anywho, finally after no success getting pregnant in December, I got a full blown AF. I couldn’t believe how excited I was.

It’s February now and I haven’t had a peak LH reading on any test I’ve done. My doctor referred me to a specialist for just some early testing and I haven’t made an appointment yet because I think I’m in denial.

When finally opening up to one of my non-conceiving friends about this whole thing, she replies with “It’s ok, you guys haven’t been trying that long anyway, I’m sure it’ll happen”. I said “yeah I’m sure you’re right” and changed the topic.

A gigantic part of me wanted to freak out and yell at her. What doesn’t seem “that long” to her has basically been a lifetime to me. I realize 6 months isn’t long compared so some of these women I’ve met on here but her comment just felt like a punch in the gut.

The daily ovulation tests, CM testing, plotting my symptoms, etc (haven’t tried bbt because i work night shift and it’s not accurate). Are wearing on me already. What encouragement do you have to help me keep trying? I may call the specialist tomorrow, but it’s a last resort. ❤️
