Do I have to take thyroid medicine for the rest of my life ?

If I were to lose a lot of weight again would I still have to take thyroid medicine forever, it’s already annoying, having hyperthyroidism sometimes I’m just tired then even sometimes I just feel depressed or anxious, which I try to control but it’s hard.
