Medical marijuana too easy to access?
So.. I want your thoughts on this matter since my sister and I discussed this at dinner tonight.
She believes it is too easy for people to be approved for a medical marijuana card and should be harder to get. She says this bc my husband recently got approved and now has his card. It was easy for him to get tbh. He went online, paid $200 and video chatted with a doctors assistant about why he wanted it. He has real reasons to need it but doesnt have the time to go see a doctor in person. The doctor had already had the approval form filled out before even chatting with him (he had set the apt up the day before) so I think this doctor just approved everyone and just wants the money tbh. They charge $200 for the video chat apt for every patient.
My thoughts are that it shouldn't be harder to get. Even if people are getting it without real medical cause, I dont see an issue bc I think recreational use should be legal as well. I'm glad my husband didnt have to jump through hoops to be approved. He works hard, doesnt get any time off and having the card will help him alot I think.
Do you think applying for a medical marijuana card should be harder or easier? Or is the process fine how it is? Sorry if this has been posted, lmk if it has and I'll delete this!
