When I was 17 I had a friends with benefits relationship with John. I was using birth control pills so John and I wouldn’t use any condoms. Our relationship got to the point where John developed feelings for me, but John was a trouble maker and a player so I told John I wasn’t interested in an actual relationship. A week later I had a one night stand with a guy I met at a party about a week before my 18th birthday. My 18th birthday rolled around and my period was late. This whole time I assumed John was the biological father. John told me to get an abortion and no one in his family really in my sons life. I had my son do an Ancestry DNA test to see his heritage. To my surprise, he had matches with family names I was unfamiliar with. 3 hours deep into the internet and I am faced with one of the biggest shocks of my life. It has become pretty clear that my sons biological father is the guy from the one night stand.

Johns mother has been very involved in my sons life. He was her first grandchild. I feel so sick to my stomach. How do I tell her i didn’t think it was possible!? How do I tell my son that his grandma isn’t his grandma?

And secondly, how tf did I conceive a week before I had taken a home pregnancy test?
