Will starting the pill on day 1 stop my period?

So, I am starting birth control for the first time (Isibloom), and the pamphlet that came with it says I can take it on the first day of my period or on the first Sunday after my period. If I start it on the first day of my period will I immediately stop bleeding completely or will it continue like normal? Also what would happen if I take it mid cycle (7 days before my period is supposed to start)?

When I got on the pill, I started it the day my period did. It was gone by the 3rd day when it usually lasted 6-9 days. Don’t start it at any time besides what the directions say.
