Neck Pain a Sign of Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi ladies,

I’m about 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Yesterday I woke up with a slight pain in my neck. It felt like I slept funny, but I still had complete range of motion in my neck so didn’t think anything of it. However, throughout the day the pain got worse and worse. It got to the point where I couldn’t turn my head at all to the right or lift my chin up. I couldn’t even tilt my head back to drink from a glass. I’ve been using a straw. When I look in the mirror my neck is visibly crooked. It’s shifted to the side and my shoulders are tilted. And the whole right side of my neck is very firm and tight to the touch. This morning the pain hasn’t subsided. I don’t have any range of motion back. And I slept horribly.

I just learned that neck/shoulder pain is a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy. And from what I’ve read in other forums, some women ONLY had that symptom. So I’m a little scared now because what causes that pain is internal bleeding. (Even if the tube hasn’t completely ruptured).

I’m finding a local doctor to call right now. I just got new health insurance and hadn’t even picked an OB yet for this pregnancy. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or something similar with an ectopic pregnancy? Or does my pain sound more like a very poorly timed pinched nerve? I’ve never experienced this kind of neck pain in my life.

I appreciate your thoughts and experiences. Thank you <3
