Anyone else feel like a wife slave?

Kristina

So I quit my job and started my own business, something that my husband totally supports and pushed me to do. It’s been about 5 months. We are newlyweds so the idea of working from home and being able to pack his lunch for work and have dinner prepared when he got home really excited me to be the best wife I can.

Now, my husband has never been the cleanest. When we both worked very long and stressful jobs, we shared the cleaning and cooking responsibilities. I feel like now that I am home, he’s gotten even more sloppy and his expectations of me are through the roof. By the way, ive never been the housewife type so it took me some getting used to and took time for me to get a good routine that worked for our us and our home. We also have 2 dogs and I also handle all of the finances.

Needless to say, I feel like a slave and it makes me not want to cater to him as I once desired. We’ve talked plenty of times and things would get better for a while and then got back to the same thing. By no means am I perfect and there were days I didn’t wash the dishes and there were times I didn’t cook but it wasnt everyday. However, recently finding out that we are expecting our first baby and me having an increased sense of smell and bad nausea accompanied with that I haven’t been able to do much. All I want to do these days is eat and sleep! My husband has been hard on me about it and makes me feel extremely worse than I already feel. And he’s never offered to help out on his days off, which I get because I’m sure he wants to relax...

I need some advice! Is anyone else going through this? How do I overcome feeling like a slave? How do I get my wifely spunk back even with handling the all day nausea? Please help!
