When to announce?

I was wondering when y’all announced your pregnancy to your close family members such as parents and grandparents? I’m not ready to announce to everyone yet, but I have my first ultrasound on Tuesday March 5th and I should be around 6 weeks and 5 days going by my last AF. Should we announce to our parents and grandparents after the ultrasound or should we wait until closer to 8 weeks or longer? Just looking for what others have done, this is a first for me! Advice is needed :)

Whatever your comfortable with. I announce to very close friends and family right away because I want their support if I miscarry

I told my mom and in laws immediately when I was only 4 weeks and a couple days. I’m telling the rest of my family and my dad around 12 weeks. I would tell everyone sooner but my mom had me young and it is a sensitive topic in my family. It makes it hard for everyone to be excited for me

My philosophy was if I would share my pain with them, I would share my joy. So I told parents and sister as soon as I had blood confirmation (which was when I also found out because I had been with a fertility clinic).  They were sworn to secrecy. Close friends and other close family knew after we saw the heartbeat and full announcement around 18 weeks (social media etc)

Told our close relatives around 7 weeks because we were all together for the holidays and we wanted to tell them in person. Otherwise, we would’ve told our parents the second we found out.

We announced our first at around 10 weeks to family and friends and 15 weeks publicly. Our second we told family and fried around 17 weeks because we were dealing with our first born having surgery and I wanted her to have the focus that she needed. We aren’t announcing publicly with this one and she will be due before our first turns 1. I think it will be fun to announce once she’s arrived.

Thanks everyone! I think that we’ll probably tell our close family next weekend since we get to see the little bean on ultrasound Tuesday and they’re also going to tell us/show us the heart rate as well, so we’ll know that everything’s okay! I Appreciate your opinions :) I’m so excited, this is the time we’ve been waiting so long for!
