Belly button piercing infected?

So I pierced my belly button around 4 years ago, I took it out around 2 years ago and just left it. Today I’ve just noticed that if I pull the skin back you can see a lump and puss coming out the hole..is this infected? Or should a few salt washes help this? The hole on the bottom is completely closed up. The puss smells bad🤢

Does anyone have any tips that might help this go away?

Don’t stress. My piercing got infected twice the year I got it. They actually say not to take the ring out if you suspect infection, cause it can close from both sides of the hole and trap the infection/bacteria in there, causing a bigger problem. Put warm water and epsom salt in a cup, and suction it to your belly button. That’s the best way to clean it and help it heal :)

Leave it out for a while. This used to happen to me occasionally. I got mine pierced like 10 years ago. I invested in a  14kt gold belly ring about 5 years ago and haven’t had a single problem since. I don’t change it since I have no problems with it. It’s costed $150 but it also has a couple small diamonds in it. I’m sure you can find a gold one cheaper than that.

It doesn't look infected yet. But yes salt water should help. Try just keeping it clean & dry & it should get back to normal. Mine looked way worse when I got mine repierced & it wasn't even infected either. I just washed it with salt water & then while it was healing I used tea tree oil on it. But like I said, mine looked way worse, it definitely needed a little extra help. Lol
