Induction due to small baby

My Dr. has decided to induce me next Wednesday at 37+1. I had an appointment yesterday (36 exactly) and he is measuring at only 4lbs 9oz. She said he is healthy just small for his gestational age and believes that my BP being high has caused the placenta to not deliver him with adequate nutrients to continue to grow. She had me get a betamethasone injection then and again today to prepare his lungs. Has anyone experienced anything like this? We are just extremely worried about him not being "normal" if that makes sense. The Dr. is not worried about anything, it seems, only the fact that he is measuring small. I am most concerned with him going to the NICU and then needing a feeding tube and oxygen while there. I just need someone to tell me it's going to be okay! No one in our personal life understands when we try to tell them what's going on. They all just saw "aww he's just going to be a little guy". 💔
