Avery name for a girl

So I was looking up middle names that go well with Avery (for a girl) and I came across quite a few boards on babycenter, where people feel very strongly that it's a boy name. I'm in the U.S and honestly never thought of it as a boy name... What do you guys think? Not that it matters, I'm just curious, because some people on the board were very set on it being a boys and name and they seemed almost insulted someone would name a girl that. (In my opinion I think of Avery as very feminine, but obviously that's just my opinion) what do you think?
