What kind of peanut butter?

What kind of peanut butter did you first feed your baby? And how much? At what age did you start?

I gave all natural peanut butter (no sugar added) and started around 6 months for my second daughter, but I’ve read you should give them very small amounts as early as 4 months to combat allergens to it. I’ll most likely wait to give my son peanut butter until he’s 6 months when I start introducing solids.

We used natural pb. No hydrogenated oils or sugars. But anything will do. I just try to avoid the unnecessary crap in Jif, Skippy, and the like.

We chose a low sodium brand of natural peanut butter. The only really important thing is that it must be creamy, because there could be a nut in crunchy peanut butter that's big enough to be a choking hazard.
Whatever kind you use, don't give a big clump of it, and don't give it on a spoon. Because it's so sticky, it's a choking hazard.
You can mix a little bit in with baby's oatmeal or yogurt. You can spread some thinly on bread or a baby wafer or whatever. You can make a runny peanut sauce and feed baby something with that on it.

I used peanut butter that had just peanuts and salt for ingredients, there are lots of brands that fall under that category. My doctor told us to try eggs and peanut butter at 6m, so we did. I combined it with my daughter’s oatmeal.

6 months (when we started solids) and it was regular Jiff peanut butter from the jar 🤷🏻‍♀️ you don't need anything fancy, but you should be introducing it early on in order to help prevent allergies.
