Would you be upset ?

Question

I’m 35+2 my husband wants to go this Thursday to Texas which is a few hours flight away and not return until the following Thursday. 
Am I being irrationally to tell him to wait till post baby? This is our second kid so I know sometimes those come sooner. 
Am I being controlling to say don’t go?

I think it’s pretty safe personally, it’s pushing it and he should have done it before you were this far along but I don’t feel like it’s too unreasonable yet .  I would be upset if it was during week 38/39. But I think statistically I read somewhere that 70% of babies are delivered after 37 weeks if that makes you feel any better. Maybe you guys could compromise and let him go but tel him he has to shorten the trip to only 2/3 days total? And make sure that he understand should you go into labor he has to come back immediately and that you guys have someone on standby to watch your other baby if you go into labor. But that’s just my opinion! :) you know your body and relationship best. He may just want one last chance to relax before the new baby.

As long as he is prepared to come back at the drop of a hat I wouldn't make a fuss. My OH is going away for a few days next week on a work trip / trip to meet friends and i will be the same gestation as you. If it was when I'm 38weeks plus then I'd probably be upset!

Yes I’d be upset..is he also planning on leaving your first child with you for that entire week? He sounds super selfish my husband would never risk missing the birth of his child or leaving me by myself that close to my due date because you never know what could happen

I think it depends on the purpose of his trip and wether or not you have any risk factors for preterm labor (I know it happens even without risk factors, but it’s significantly less likely)

Let him know you can go into labor today tomorrow, or the next day that you would like for him to just stay. 
Don’t be ugly it will make it worst.

I went into labor with my son at 35+6. I'd be so uncomfortable with him not being home.
