If your boyfriend constantly talked about drugs would you be annoyed?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years. He has a past history with pill abuse but has overcome it. He is constantly talking about drugs. It only takes about 5-10 minutes of me coming over for him to start in on some random heroin or meth fact. And if he’s not talking about that he’s looking up different pot strains. We are supposed to go on a vacation in a week and I’m the only one who’s saved up money because he spent $100 on pot.

Cancel the vacation. He needs to seek therapy for his dependency issues, just because he doesn’t take the pills anymore doesn’t mean he actually has overcome his addiction ... I was addicted to Xanax for years, though I stopped using I wasn’t over it until 2 years after when I started therapy and realized pills were still consuming my thoughts and I felt I was “sharing useful information” that NOBODY asked for.

He needs to talk about it. Maybe not to you directly, but maybe to someone else that is in recovery. My SO is in now clean, and he still babbles about drugs and some of the stuff he says is crazy, but I know that it helps him process and actually not carry the thought out with an action. 
Now the whole spending all his money on weed.. that would annoy me. Try to communicate with him and voice how that makes you feel. They don’t know it’s an issue if you don’t tell them. 
I’d tell him if that’s his #1 priority, maybe he needs to reevaluate them because the irresponsibility is a dealbreaker for you.  
I hope he can get his shit straight for himself and your relationship ❤️

My fiancée had a pill addiction. Badly. I thought it was in the past and I thought he was clean until he confessed to me days after the new year that he was heavily back on drugs for the last two years (I had no idea) but he wanted to be clean when he told me. He’s now 63 days clean. I noticed little red flags here and there and I was really suspicious. He would always watch drug show, and was so “fascinated” with anything drug related. I knew something was up but he always denied. Drug addicts are good liars and can hide it well, I had my suspicions but didn’t actually know for a fact. I was completely heartbroken when he told me. Weve been together for 5 years and have a 3 year old. He smoked weed to help with the withdraws symptoms (something we talked about and agreed on for him to do instead of going back on pills) and now that he’s clean it’s like hes a completely different person (towards the better)! Anyways, I know how hard it is to be with an addict and you need to decide if staying with him is worth it. He most likely is back on them and he probably won’t confess! It’s little signs like this that I should of payed more attention to. If you decide to stay then get him the help he needs if he confesses that he has a problem. Otherwise there’s nothing you can do. You can’t help someone get clean if they don’t recognize they have a problem or want to stop.
