Did you do a 3 or 5 day transfer?

The embryologist told me to come in tomorrow for a three day transfer but everything I read says five days is better since the embryos are then blastocyst. Do you think I’m doing a D3 transfer because the quality isn’t the greatest?

I just did a 3 day transfer on Tuesday.  My doctor also went back and forth about it.  Dr likes 5 day transfers much better but made the decision for a 3 day transfer with me due to my age (35),  my prior IVF attempt failed due to none making it to blast,  and also my low egg count. I had 3 mature and all 3 made it to day 3 (8 cells).  Dr and embryologist says that they do better in the uterus due to it being their natural environment.  I now have the long 2ww!! 🤞🤞🤞. Good luck!

I did 5 day transfer. They usually only do a 3 day if the embryos are not advancing as well as they would like

I have done day 5 fets (2 of them) my embryos we adopted from another family who were finished with them after their ivf, so not my eggs or anything but I know technically they are day 6 embryos. Out of 7 embryos we have used 3 and have 1 daughter. I think either way any embryo whether day 3 or 5 that is going to be your baby will be fine whether it’s a transfer on d3 or d5 ... best of luck!

My clinic told me to come in at day 3 as well but we ended up with a day 5 transfer. They said they always have patients come in for day 3 just in case.

I did a day three and am 25 weeks pregnant. Egg was of great quality,  but we didn’t want to wait. They said it can be beneficial to be in the uterus because that is the natural environment, so it really just depends. We did day three because we didn’t have any other eggs to mature so I figured why wait? It’ll either take or it won’t but waiting to transfer won’t change that.
