Colposcopy TRUTH

So I had an abnormal pap back in November 2018. Came back Feb 18th 2019 for another normal pap. Came back abnormal again but slightly worse. So today March 6th I had a colposcopy done.

And they don’t just “look” at your cervix okay.

Yes the speculum is extra long and extra uncomfortable.

The looking was fine. Then. Ohhhh then the fun happened 🙃

He did a cervical smear. And had to take a BLOOD SAMPLE FROM MY UTERUS.

The cervical smear was a pain like a miscarriage. Painful and uncomfortable but didn’t cry. But I’ll tell you this. He scraped EVERY last millimeter of my cervical opening. Every. Last. One.

The blood sample. That shit had me in tears.

And I have a high pain tolerance.

The nurse said the the smear was the worst of it. SHE FREAKING LIED HER RED HEADED ASS OFF!!!

Because “you’ll feel a little pinch” came, and a pinch came and FREAKING WENT in a split second and then came the tear. Then he had to do it AGAIN. And I lost my damn shit.

I was pushing and scratching my leg. I was trying my best not to lift my butt off the table. I was crying uncontrollably for a solid 5 minutes before I could walk out.

And then. The stuff they put up there to stop the bleeding stains your clothes. And is yellow and runny and blah.

But yeah I thought I’d share the TRUTH of how painful a colposcopy and cervical smear is.
