Discipline tips?

My baby is 1 and 8 months and it’s like she’s starting to challenge me. If I say don’t do this she’ll wait and stare at me then do it again and just repeats. I won’t whoop her because I just won’t do what are some ways to stop this if you’ve dealt with it?

Redirect. Remove her from the situation and show her what she can do instead.

I mean it depends. My son used to do this, I didn’t spank him until he went to touch an outlet.. I told him no and looked me dead in the eyes and touched it, so I smacked his hand, raised my voice and said “no, don’t touch” and that was it.. he never tried to touch it again, shit he started listening to me completely after that. But for anything not dangerous I wouldn’t redirect, I feel like doesn’t let them know it’s not ok.. but I would move the hands, repeat no, getting more serious as it goes on.. after a few times I would put down for a nap or time out so they know that it’s not ok
