Can a flu shot from 2 years ago provide some protection still?

So I requested the flu shot from my OB and she told me it’s too late in the season. I have to go to a course with 50 people in a crowded little room tomorrow. I had the flu shot 2 years ago and read that past flu shots are not as effective but can still provide some protection to your body. Anyone know if this is true? 😓.

You can still get the shot, but yeah it is pretty much too late to get one for this season. And it takes 2 weeks to be effective anyway, and can take longer in pregnant women. So its too late for your meeting thing anyway.

The flu shot targets the most wide spreading common form of the flu for each season. There are MANY strains each year. So one from 2 years ago likely will have no effects in helping you avoid this year's flu. Flu season ends this month or next month though.
