My daughter turned 18 in December and ever since she feels like she can go and come as she pleases without informing her dad and I on her whereabouts.

We’ve had about enough of her shenanigans...she doesn’t save her money, doesn’t help clean around the house, has to continue to be told to do her chores (even having a signed contract) and gives ME (not dad) attitude and back talk, lies and makes excuses! God knows it takes every angel in heaven to stop me from going apeshit on her!

It’s at the point where we’ve told her after she graduates in May, she needs to start looking for an apartment that way she won’t have to be bothered by following any rules (curfew, chores, etc) or be told what to do. It’s unfortunate we don’t have the type of relationship like some moms and daughters, but I’m her mom first not her friend. But, I’m optimistic that once she’s faced with making real life decisions (paying bills vs hair and nails) and adulthood she’ll come to an understanding that we were trying to prepare her for the real world, appreciate our efforts and become best friends one day🤞🏾
