Casual baby shower question!!

Ariel

Need advice. My husband and I had a baby shower thrown for us by my friends and family out of state last month, where we did the whole opening-presents-in-front-of-everyone thing, which honestly gives me anxiety because I don't like to be put on the spot 😂

We want to have a more casual get-together at our house soon, with our friends and his family who live nearby. Probably a brunch/open house sort of thing. I'm going to share our registry link but make it clear to people that presents are not expected (I've had some people ask for the link, I know people love to but cute things for babies!).

Question is: if people bring presents, do we have to open them in front of everyone again? Or can we set them aside and say thanks? How do we strike a balance of casual non-traditional baby shower vs. making people happy to see their presents opened?

I may be overthinking this 😂
