Baby Shower Etiquette

Have any of you had yourselves or been to a “Display Shower”?

My mom is currently planning my shower and is considering asking guests to attach a gift tag but leave gifts unwrapped. Gifts would be on display throughout the shower for everyone to view the cuteness but save time on opening gifts. We are expecting around 50 guests.

I’m not big on all the regular baby shower games (bingo, candy diapers, name the baby food, belly measures) as I do not want to bore my guests. I’m the last of family/friends to have a baby so we’ve all done those a hundred times. Instead we are planning to keep guests active by making their own floral arrangements. I would then get to spend more time visiting with guests than opening gifts.

I like my moms idea of unwrapped to not waste guests time but I also don’t want to come off ungrateful and tacky. I’ve never been a shower like that myself so I’m not sure how that works.
