Parent won’t meet my boyfriends parents??

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years. I’m very close to his family as if they’re my family. Yet, my dad will not meet my boyfriends parents. He literally refuses to and does not see a reason to nor does he care too. My boyfriend can’t even get involved with my family because of my dad always shutting him down. What should I do? How do I get my dad to acknowledge I’m in a serious relationship?
