Do I have a right to be upset?

I hosted my own baby shower where gifts were welcome but not needed and of 40 people invited.  6 RSVPd and my dad and step mom stayed the whole time. 1 person who my husband know through work dropped off a gift. That's about it I'm happy for those who showed and I appreciate it but I'm slightly hurt. I feel like u shouldn't be and it's what I was asking for.

That’s why I decided not to host a baby shower. Everyone always says yes they will come and they don’t. Only the true friends and ones who make the time come.

Sorry this happened to you. That’s very upsetting. I have a huge family so I never have this issue!! They all come with an exception of a few. My husbands family is small but his sisters who live 2 hours away and his friends came!! His parents live in Florida and only because of health issues couldn’t make it. 
I make a short list every time we have a major event (wedding, party, baby shower) of the same ppl I invite that don’t show up. 3 or more no shows and I NEVER invite u again. 🤬 I’m not waisting time on those ppl and they are the same ones that are repeat offenders and put fake “comments” on social media saying “oh I can’t wait”, “when is the shower? “ or comment after the event on all the photos...GTFOH...lol

I had a pretty decent turn out but it made me super angry when I was getting text that morning and during my shower that they weren’t going to make it, which these excuses that made me even more mad. I just now know who to invite to things and who not!! Sorry no one showed

Oh no!! We had about 40 people RSVP yes, and about 6 “changed their minds” on the morning of- all guests of my husband 😂. I had figured on 10-15 not showing so it was actually better attended than I thought. People are just flaky - its annoying, and you are totally within your rights to be upset, but hope you were able to enjoy your day anyways!!

I had my baby shower last weekend & similar situation. People RSVPd & I had an estimated count of 60 people (this included people my guests were bringing). In the end, not even half showed up. The amount of money that was spent on food & everything else was ridiculous & I was hurt. Don’t let it get to you though people will be like that. Now you know who to invite & who not to invite!

That’s pretty much out 99% of baby showers go. Same for your kids birthdays. I just don’t expect anyone to show up for anything.

I’m sorry.  I’d be upset too.  Especially since you probably made refreshments and such based on the 6.  So not cool of them.
