DATING SOMEONE WITH A DRINKING PROBLEM

So first thing first this whole thing started as a no strings attached and next thing you know the more we hung out and went out together for food or drinks we realized we actually enjoy our company and we like each other but the one issue and flaw he has is when he drinks he becomes the most annoying drunk person everrrrr like stupid drunk not aggressive at all but just stupid where i hate being around it and he knows it’s bad which is a good thing. He realizes his flaw ..but it’s gotten to the point now where i don’t know if i should give up and wait for him to change or keep dealing with it ..i really like him and he is 5 years older then me I’m 21 and he’s turning 27
