Early or Active Labor?

Hello ladies! So last night at around 9pm I started getting bad cramps and at 1am I lost my mucous plug and then had some light blood blood with the mucous. I was having contractions every 2 hours for about 25-30 seconds.
For the past hour they’ve been around 40 seconds every 6 1/2 minutes or so. They really hurt and I can’t talk through them. I don’t wanna miss my window to get the epidural so I’m trying to figure out when or not to go?

Went into L&D at around 9:30/10 and it turns out I am at 4cm 2 hours later they gave me the epidural and now I just waiting for the baby to arrive!

Why would you make a poll, call L&D! Clearly there’s something happening, worst comes to worse they’d check you & send you home if you aren’t progressed enough, or they may admit you if you’re ready to go!

The usual rule of thumb is 1 minute long, 5 minutes apart or less for at least an hour & even then you could head to the hospital & find out you’re still not dilated enough & they could send you home, but hopefully that won’t happen for you! Good luck! (It’s different if your water breaks then they usually want you to go in sooner, mine didn’t break spontaneously so I don’t know how much sooner)

If you want an epidural you have to go in early enough.

Call your doctor and ask them when they want you to go in.some say when your contractions are five minutes apart, others say less than 3, and some say when you can’t handle the pain or talk through them anymore. But it’s definitely labor
