Naps and bottles and help!

Amanda

I know my 4 month old is going through his big developmental stage and his sleep regression but he has always taken short naps (43 min each time) even though his room is pitch black, sound machine, the whole thing... I’ve been reading that he should be working his way down to 3 naps (sometimes 4) a day. He wakes between 6:30-7:00 and goes down between 7:00-7:30 at night for bed. He is usually needing his 3rd nap in the early afternoon and then has a HUGE window between that and bedtime. He rarely wants to sleep for the 4th nap even though he is showing all the cues for being tired. Even if he does take it there is sometimes a big gap still between nap 4 and bed.

I know I should be stretching his wake windows but know that they should only be between 1 1/2-2 hours long right now...and with a short nap and eating every 2-2 1/2 hours he just can’t make it without being super overtired. I am not sure what I need to do. He starts screaming about every 2-2 1-2 hours to eat.

He’s eating around 32-33oz a day (takes a bottle about 6-7xs). The bottle is usually 5oz. If he gets more oz at a feeding will he be able to wait longer? How in the world do I lessen the bottles without meltdowns and work to only 3 naps? We have taken the takingcarababies class and have tried lengthening wake windows only to have an overtired baby that refuses to sleep.
