Travel system recommendations? And is second hand worth it?

I’m 24 weeks in a couple of days so myself and hubby have decided it’s time to buy some of the bigger items over the next few weeks.

However, we really disagree about how much a travel system should/will cost. I don’t want something cheap, but he seems to think that will be fine and doesn’t want to spend over £600 for everything :/ I can’t help but think, at that price it wouldn’t last and it would be clunky and difficult to use.

Any recommendations for a reasonably priced travel system that is compact (I only have a small car)? Is there a reason not to consider second hand as an option? I know some things should only be bought brand new.
