Is it wrong to get admitted to MIT just to meet a potential mate?

My niece worked really hard to get admitted to MIT so she can meet a potential rich husband, that’s what my sister taught her. Do you agree with my sister? Is that the right thing to do?

Sounds like she worked really hard to get into the college she wanted, just like everyone else. She can go get her degree, and if she meets someone while she there, that's nice too
How do you know that that's her plan though? A lot of teens disagree with their parents plans/thoughts/feelings. I doubt she put in that much effort to go to that college JUST to meet a guy. It's more likely that she went to all that effort and did all that work because SHE actually wants to go and has an interest in what the college offers

What’s wrong with potentially looking around? People often meet potential partners at school, even if they don’t get together right then.
Two, if she actually got in on her own merits, then that’s her spot. You can think whatever you like about her plans, but she’s there.
Three, who says the only gain is a job? If you have access and time for it, education is a wonderful and valuable thing.
Four, she’s a kid starting out. Who knows if she’ll still think that.
