Smell?

TMI but is anyone else having issues with discharge after birth having a bad smell? I know this can be a sign of infection but I'm not having any other symptoms of infection besides the discharge having a bad smell. Currently 3.5 weeks PP.

My OB told me it will smell “earthy”. Think of a wound on your body healing. It scabs and sometimes that scab can slough off. Well the same thing happens inside of your uterus. Where your placenta was is a wound and goes through the same healing process. This can have a smell. 
However, if you notice it’s overwhelming def consult your OB

Yes. And no infection so it's super frustrating. I hate it.

My discharge smelled like expired raw chicken. I bled for 11 weeks after both but nothing ever happened.

It’s normal! I had it BAD. At least I thought it was super bad. The smell eventually goes away. It happens to some mothers, not all. There’s pretty much nothing you can do but let it pass😊

Yep, it smelled horrible to me for the 6 weeks that I was bleeding off and on. No one else around me ever said anything or noticed, I think it's more noticeable to you than anyone else. It passes about a week after you stop bleeding, don't worry :)
