Getting eaten out

I’m a virgin, my boyfriend wants to eat me out (he’s also a virgin) , but like (pls no hate for this I literally just want reassurance and/or advice) isn’t it going to taste bad for him, like I don’t think I’d want to give myself oral (my hygiene is good). I told him it may taste bad and he said he wants to find out for himself. So I guess my question is what have your partners said about it?
