Late period but negative pregnancy test?

Me and my husband just started trying and I had a gut feeling to take a pregnancy test. I took it 2 days before I was supposed to start my period and it was negative which I am now 2 days late for my period (which is odd cause I’m never late) but I was wondering if I should retest or if I’m really not pregnant?

Update:

I’m now 4 days late and I now have very light bleeding which isn’t normal for me. It’s also very light pink. But I don’t know if it’s my period or implantation bleeding? I ovulated on time so my period should have started on it’s normal day. But I’m still getting negative pregnancy tests.
