I need help!

Help! My baby is four months old and has mucus trapped in her throat and I don't know how to get it out. She goes to a new day care on Tuesday and I don't want them to send her home because I can't afford to miss work. Here's what I've tried. Saline and suction. There is no mucus in her nose and I am not sure if I am suctioning her mouth correctly. I may be getting all drool. I don't know. I have tried sitting in the bathroom with the hot water turned all the way up but I have a crappy heater and it doesn't stay hot for long. I tried baby vicks and a humidifier last night but she sounds worse today. Anything I do at home or buy that can get her better enough for daycare? I am desperate!
