Drinking for the first time! How does pumping and dumping work??

Going out with my girlfriends for the first time. It’s going to be a night! I breast feed so how long will it take to get out of my system?

Also, never actually dump it! Save the milk in a separate labeled bag for milk baths :)

Do you plan to get drunk? It all depends on how much you drink. The say two hours per drink but that’s not really the case if you only have one drink. If you drink a beer with 5 percent alcohol only .05 would be in your milk so essentially nothing 
Once you are sober you can feed baby

I’ve found that it really depends on how much you drink and what you’re drinking. I actually bought the Milk testing strips
That are sold at target or amazon. Just a few drops of milk expressed into the strip lets you know if there is still alcohol in your system. Some also say if you fee sober enough to drive you can breast feed but I’m personally not ok with that.

I go with 2 hrs (from when I am done) when I have a glass or 2 of wine.  If you have more than that You can use pump some if you are uncomfortable and need to wait longer. Try to pump right before you start drinking to give yourself the most time.

Really depends how much you drink and when your last drink was, if it’s a all night thing and you stop drinking at 1am I wouldn’t nurse till lunch time next day. (That’s what I done) But if you feel sober then your fine to nurse. You don’t need to pump and dump as once alcohol leaves you system it leaves your milk to.. you might have to pump so you don’t leak tho.. 😊
