Do you buy your own health insurance?

For those who don’t have health insurance through work, did you get your own insurance? If so, how and how much does it cost? I might be able to quit my job when my husband gets more hours, but then we won’t have health insurance.. and we definitely need it!

Nope. The amount of doctors visits we have yearly for our specific health issues isn’t worth the amount health insurance would cost us yearly. We save money by paying cash at the doctors and clinics. My hubby gets a free physical every 2 years because of his CDL and our kids qualify for Kidscare. Insurance is just too expensive and we wouldn’t even meet our yearly deductible so we’d still be paying out of pocket.

Yes We have health insurance that we pay ourselves. It’s about €1650 a year for myself, my husband and son. I’m in Ireland though so I don’t know what the norm is in other countries.

I’m self-employed, so I have to get my own insurance. I absolutely need it with all of my health problems. I pay close to $400 a month for my premium for mediocre health insurance. Many insurances that I would want, they stopped offering individual plans because of the Marketplace/ACA.

It’s kind of hard to say because it depends on the level of coverage you need and your pre-existing conditions. I think I pay 80 a month for dental and meds along with everything else.
