Do you give your baby powder formula?

Question

I just read tonight that apparently you're not supposed to give powder formula to a baby under 3 months? My son is 5 weeks old and I've been supplementing since day one and have made the decision to switch altogether....
No one ever mentioned not to use powdered formula... and I really couldn't find much info on it when researching.
What do you ladies know that I don't about this?

Never heard that before all 4 of my kids have been on powder formula since birth

I have heard of it.  It’s not sterile.  It up until 2 months or with preemies.  If you are going to use it, make sure to use sterile practices like washing hands, sanitized bottles and boiled water.  They recommend premixed formula until 2 months

It's just about it being sterile. Wash your bottles and sterilize with each feeding and throw out unused formula. It's all good if you're understanding that it goes off quick

I’ve never heard that, my pediatrician actually recommended going straight to powdered formula over the ready made just because I’d eventually go to that anyway and it was easier to just start on powder to begin with.
