Cooking & Culture Pro Tip
I have been meaning to take cooking lessons from my mother-in-law since I married my husband 4 years ago. I am Puerto Rican and my husband is biracial black and white from the American South.
I learned to make some of his favorite dishes recently and not only was it fun but it helped me and my mother-in-law to bond and my husband was pleasantly surprised.
Now that we have a baby together I think it’s really important to transfer both sides of his culture to him and I think cooking is one of the ways to do that.
So mamas of interracial or bicultural babies i’d recommend learning some dishes from your husband’s side of the family.
