When you started bleeding, was the misscarriage painful (physically)?

I'm sorry for this question as its a sensitive subject but im having a blighted ovum and the gynecologist asked me to go to er once i start bleeding if it happens before my appointment on Sunday.. 
Im scared because i heard some ppl saying it was similar to labour pain.. are they exaggerating? Im scared

It depends how far along you are. And of course everyone is different, which is why it’s difficult to predict. With mine I had contractions that were pretty painful and the process took a few hours. And I don’t say this to scare you, but before I miscarried I was told it was just going to be like menstrual cramps and a heavy period so I wasn’t at all mentally prepared for my miscarriage. It’s better to be prepared.

I think it's probably different for everyone for me it was like pretty intense period cramps. I was pretty much able to handle it with regular doses if 800 mg of ibuprofen, a heating pad, and taking it easy if that helps any on what you could expect.

I miscarried at 13w5d and it was both physically and mentally the most painful thing I have ever been through. My cramps/contractions lasted for about 12 hours and continued for another few hours after the baby was out. I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance and was given both morphine for the pain and something else to stop my bleeding as I was losing so much blood. I am in no way trying to scare you, just sharing my experience. It's different from woman to woman, other women I know has described it as period cramps or heavy period cramps.

it all depends. i was 14 weeks and my uterus was measuring about 18 weeks, i had contractions that lasted for about a day in half, it was pretty painful for me. they lasted for minutes at a time and were relentless. i also felt when each little water broke. it was heartbreaking. i actually didn’t see any blood until i passed the second baby :(  
Then the blood clots started coming and the contractions kept coming with no sign of stopping ( i guess there was still some placenta stuck to the wall of my uterus that my body was having a hard time getting rid of) so i ended up have a emergency D&C and felt no more pain after. 
No matter how your experience will be i can guarantee you will be able to handle it and find a strength you didn’t know you had.

They are not painless, but to me not painful. Does that make sense. And they aren’t as bad a labour pains. But I also found labour wasn’t painful. Maybe I’m no help!! 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️
