Single mom dating a guy with zero experience with kids

I really like this guy and we’ve been dating for a few weeks. He hasn’t met my six month old son yet but says he doesn’t mind and would love to at any point. However, he has said that he has no experience with kids and doesn’t even know if he “likes” kids unless they’re well behaved. Obviously this isn’t an issue as my son is only six months and I used to feel this way before I had kids. I still do with other people’s kids. I’m just concerned if this is doomed from the beginning or if you’ve found that some guys do well with kids once they get used to it.
