My birth story
I was scheduled to have a c section on Friday, April 5th. I was suppose to be at the hospital for 11:30 am and they were going to start at 1:30 pm.
Thursday night around 11:30, I started having a lot of pressure and I felt like I needed to go to the restroom. When I went, I started having major pains that felt like gas pains but they were 1000 times worse. I got in the tub not thinking anything of it. As I was bathing, I started feeling like I was peeing on myself uncontrollably. I called my husband in the bathroom and told him that i thought my water was breaking. We called the nurse and she told me that if I’m leaking fluid, to go in to have it checked. I get out the tub, get dressed and as I’m walking through my kitchen to head out the door, my water started leaking all over the floor. I grab a towel and drive to the hospital. I wasn’t in pain. Just tightening and some cramps.
Once I made it to the hospital, my water broke completely while I was talking to the receptionist. They wheeled me in the back, checked to make sure it was my water, called the doctor and was getting the OR all set up.
Gabriel August was born on April 5th at 3:34 am (about 12 hours before the scheduled). He’s healthy and weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and is 20 1/4 inches long. Once we got into a room, I started hemorrhaging. I had to have 2 bags of blood and I had to take medicine to make my uterus firm up because it wasn’t contracting to firm which cause the bleeding. But now, I’m feeling fine (besides being super sore).
