Relationship Advice!!!!

So I’m 18 and my boyfriend is 35. We’ve been in a secret relationship for a year and a half now because I wasn’t legal yet. But we’ve recently come out as a couple and we both work in ministry, so of course none of our coworkers or bosses approve. Ugly untrue rumors about us have unfortunately been spread across our workplace and people see us together and look at us like we’re freaks. I’ve been called horrible names and my boyfriend gets disappointed looks from a lot of people we used to know and love. We are really happy together and just want the childish nonsense of people around us to stop. Any advice as well as any questions you’d like me to answer about this are very much appreciated.
