Aura frequency increasing in first trimester?

Question

I've had migraines with aura, sometimes with headache but usually without, since I was 16 or so. I haven't had one in over a year. Am now 6 or 7 weeks pregnant and I've had 2 aura (no headache) in as many days. I thought pregnancy was supposed to make migraines less frequent? Is this cause for concern? I'll mention it at my next appointment but gosh.

With a rare random exception, I pretty much only get migraines if I’m either pregnant or on hormonal birth control. My midwife prescribed me Fioricet in a previous pregnancy and it works pretty well for me if I take it at the very first sign of aura.

For many people migraines do improve with pregnancy but unfortunately get worse for some women. It is also very normal for migraines to change each trimester with the hormone changes. The first trimester is the most common time to see an increase

I don’t get them, but my sister got horrible migraines with aura throughout all 3 of her pregnancies. I hope it stops soon for you!

I had auras my whole last pregnancy it was awful!! Third trimester was the worst!! I would have at least 1-2 a week. He will be 2 in May and I haven’t had a single one since he’s been born lol
