How would you guys feel?

So I’m frustrated. At Christmas when we announced, everyone asked if we had thought of names. There is one that I have liked since the beginning, and it kind of just feels right. We’ve listed off a couple of others, and they’re not bad, but I haven’t felt like they stuck. So me and my boyfriend agreed the most on the original.
Fast forward to now, his sister is pregnant with their second (under 12 weeks) and came to him saying that she wanted to use it, so when I brought it up again the other night he goes “Yeah, don’t know if we can use that one.” He says that she didn’t explicitly say oh please don’t, just that it was what they wanted.
I kind of just feel like, if anyone gets “dibs” it would be me as I’m further along, and as when we mentioned the name at Christmas she told us it was cute. It would also be the second time that we don’t use our first choice, because he had always wanted Connor for a son but that was recently used by another close relative a few months back. I don’t think it’s fair for us to have to name our child something we don’t like as much or to settle. But I don’t know how to say this to him without just going “yeah, no. I like our sons name and it’s not going to change.”

Fuck her 😂😂 use it anyways you liked it and made that clear first. Plus, she’s too early to even know what she’s having. I wouldn’t let anyone influence what I did or didn’t call my child

Number one: she can’t just stake claim on a name, many names are shared through out this world, especially since you told her the name was originally for you child. That’s super uncool. 
Number two: your baby will be here first anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️ 
Number three: don’t share baby names next time, it’s no ones business but yours and your partners, you have that right to privacy, especially considering this issue. Be selfish, it’s you child, not hers.

Go with the name you love. Picking a name is hard enough without having to juggle the rest of the worlds feelings. Whether or not you make it official with the family is up to you and your husband... but come delivery day, slap it on the birth certificate. 
And who’s going to start an argument with a mama holding her newborn?? About a respectable name?? God help them... 
Plus, she should have known the name was off limits because y’all had it on your list at Christmas. That’s an unspoken rule.

I would just use the name. Your due first and you picked it first. If you name your baby whatever the name is then its not like she can still use it. Sooo i think your good! Lol

That’s messed up. 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is part of the reason we kept our sons name a secret, the other being every time we choose a name someone has a smart ass comment. Anyways, you chose the name already so I don’t see why/how she would come out of the woodwork saying she wants it when you already told them that you were using it.

Your babys born first so you get to use the name first. You'll either end up with cousins with the same name or she will just have to get a new one

Use  the name you like. She can deal with it. Like everyone says  your father along and you mentioned  it beforehand. Do what your heart says  and name your child the name you love. Don't let other people run your life. You have nothing to feel bad about. She on the other hand has some nerve. That action alone would have made my decision. Lol!😊

Tell him it isn’t changing, if he doesn’t like that response let your inner hormone monster out and let them all have it lol. Your baby, your name period. They will get over it. You got one name taken from you, they can find something else.
